COMMITTEE INVOLVEMENTThe Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry's voluntary committees and task forces offer Members the opportunity to contribute directly to the work of the Chamber and to interact with fellow Chamber Members who share common interests. Committee participation is a great way for Members to network, share ideas and further the Chamber's objectives for Greater Reading's businesses through its promotion, support and advocacy initiatives.
Staff Contact: Liz McCauleyDedicated volunteers serve as Chamber ambassadors to welcome new members to the Chamber and guide them through the first year to discover all the benefits membership brings. The Ambassador committee also assists at breakfast programs, networking receptions, ribbon-cuttings, grand openings, and ground breaking ceremonies.
Staff Contact: Liz McCauleyDevelops and implements networking focused events to help engage and retain our members. Power Networking and Leads to Business are new series that generate leads and referrals.
EVENT TASK FORCES
Staff Contact: Carolyn Shultz SpanoDrive attendance and infuse new ideas into signature Chamber events, such as Annual Dinner, Golf, Picnic and MORE!
GOVERNMENT ISSUES COMMITTEE
Staff Contact: Gail LandisAdvocates on behalf of the Greater Reading business community about issues that will further the economic and business climate of the region. Also works to enhance the rapport between Chamber Members and public officials.
MARKETING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Staff Contact: Melissa VaroneAssists the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry in marketing and communication initiatives with advice, support, and representation.
Staff Contacts: Teresa McCannTo improve the competitive position of the Greater Reading Region through Information Technology and Telecom-related initiatives and information sharing.
Staff Contact: Gail LandisWork with PennDOT on transportation improvements. Prime focus is to identify and prioritize key infrastructure projects that are needed for future economic development and growth for our area.
WOMEN'S FOCUS GROUP
Staff Contact: Carolyn Shultz SpanoTo lead in the (provision of) growth, development and networking initiatives/opportunities for women in the business community as an integral part of the economic development in Greater Reading.
